GIT Smoothie

I am lucky enough (sarcasm) at the moment to be going through a viral gastro bug. After a day of emptying both ends, aches and pains and fevers, the abdominal cramps and bloating still persist.

This smoothie helps to calm the bloating and get rid of toxins that maybe still floating around causing the cramping.

It may not look too appetizing, but is quite delicious and does help recovery from gastro or food poisoning. It is also great if you have the after effects of eating and drinking the wrong things that may cause bloating and nausea.

  • Banana helps with inflammation of the GIT, and also works as a prebiotic and helps with hydration.

  • Charcoal help eliminate toxins in the body and is great for relieving abdominal gas.

  • Probiotics put good bacteria into the GIT.

  • Gelatin and turmeric reduce inflammation.

  • Salt is for hydration and electrolytes.

  • Oat bran is a prebiotic and can soothe the GIT if you can handle oats ok.

GIT Smoothie

1/2 a banana

200ml of almond milk

1/4 cup of ice

2 capsules of activated charcoal

2 capsules of probiotic

1 TBSP of Great Lakes Gelatin

1/2 tsp of turmeric

1/4 tsp of salt

Blend until smooth.
